about.
multidisciplinary artist · performer · maker
Nursinem Aslan (Nursi) is a multidisciplinary artist, performer and maker based in The Hague, Netherlands. With a background in design and ArtScience, their practice moves between sound, performance, installation, visual arts and technology.
Their work is driven by curiosity, experimentation and a hands-on approach to making. They enjoy exploring different materials, building instruments and installations, working with both analogue and digital technologies, and finding unexpected connections between disciplines. Their interests often move between the human body, natural processes, everyday objects and technological systems.
Alongside their artistic practice, Nursi also works as a chef, bringing their love of making, experimenting and working with their hands into the kitchen. Rather than defining themselves through one particular medium or discipline, they enjoy moving between different fields, learning new skills and discovering possibilities through the process of making.
Nursi works from Helicopter Studio in The Hague, where they are a member of the collective.
